Search Services Comments From MRG Clients

"No matter what skill sets you need, no matter what geographical area … over a dozen searches … there is always the same dedication, professionalism and sense of humor that makes working with MRG successful and a lot of fun. They get the job done!"
CVM, Midwestern banking executive

"We have used Management Resource Group to perform several searches for executive positions at Estes Company, as well as conduct personality testing and evaluations for potential candidates prior to hiring. We have had excellent experiences with the quality of candidates and the persons whom we have hired. We have been very pleased with the professional, courteous and diligent searches … all completed within tight time frames. I would also like to commend MRG for its outstanding commitment to the community. I admire your integrity and professionalism, and consider it an honor when we have the opportunity to work together - either professionally or for the community."
Kent Pilcher, President, Estes Company

"I have been in the banking industry for eight years and have had occasions to deal personally with 10 different recruiting firms. Although MRG works for the employer, their professional staff were the only recruiters who ever took the time to determine what my needs and desires were. Unlike several firms that seem to be interested in short-term solutions, it is apparent that MRG's goal is to provide a pool of qualified, interested candidates to facilitate a long-term match."
Mick Fletcher, Vice President, Commercial Banking, Marquette Bank

"MRG wasn't interested in just filling the position. They wanted the right person in the right job."
Judi A. Holdorf, CFRE, Executive Director, Quad City Arts

"We received exceptional service and support, and the expertise of the firm helped us identify an outstanding candidate. The service MRG provided helped lead the development of plans that will chart the future for Palmer. I know I will again turn to MRG for similar (and other management) services, as I know they will deliver."
Michael E. Crawford, Chancellor, Palmer Chiropractic University System

"MRG is a top-notch organization with a great deal of professionalism and expertise. They also keep you well informed as you go along through the search process. I feel very fortunate to have discovered the talent they can bring to critical selection problems."
T.G. Getz, President, Moline Forge

Career Transition/Spouse Relocation Comments From MRG Clients

"After being out of the job-hunting market for 25+ years, I found MRG a valuable resource. They supplied me with up-to-date information on the current market and methods for a successful job search. Now as President/COO of a mid-sized industrial conglomerate in the Northeast, I have and am continuing to use MRG and their network for all our outplacement needs."
Thomas S. Brown, President/COO, GARMCO (USA), Inc.

"MRG teamed up with Career Decisions, Inc., to provide analysis and direction for a process that was totally foreign to me. I specifically wanted to focus within the healthcare industry. They provided the necessary atmosphere and resources I needed for sourcing and networking new career opportunities. It was very important for me to work with a local organization that understood my needs, that was conveniently located, and that provided competent and professional staff assistance."
Robert Nolan, Corporate Vice President
Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island, Ill.

"This was a very emotional and uncertain time for me. The services MRG provided were very supportive and professional. Through the assistance I received from MRG, I was successful in finding a suitable job that matched my career objectives."
Mary C. McGivern, Sales Representative

"I have had the opportunity to work with large and small companies, and usually there is a perspective that bigger is better. As a Human Resource Manager for a local Quad-City company, I relied on MRG to assist in several employee transitions. I was pleasantly surprised by their professional advice and their positive attitude during some difficult decision-making at the company. As I found out, no one is exempt from career changes, and I personally used MRG's career transition program during my own departure from the company. Their counseling staff, their contacts in the local community and beyond, and their commitment to excellence in their program was exactly the mix I needed to find a new job in as little time as possible.
I will continue to rely on their services, because not only do
I consider them professionals, I consider them friends."
Human Resource Manager, Regional Fortune 500 corporation

"MRG has been a great resource for me in the human resource arena. When I have conducted interview training, MRG was the first place I called to request assistance for volunteer interviewees. MRG's Career Management Division has worked closely with me to assist in the transition phase of position reductions during a corporate buyout. Their professional expertise and advice in consulting with us during delicate staffing issues is exactly the kind of reliability I need in this changing work environment."
Human Resource Manager, Local Service Organization

"When we relocated to the Quad Cities from Omaha, Nebraska, I was looking for a possible career change. MRG's staff gave me some excellent materials so I could learn how to market myself better to potential employers. I accompanied a consultant at MRG to a meeting of peers with a similar background and it was there I met an individual who was instrumental in me obtaining my current job. This is my third move in 5 years and never before have I received such a great response from the resume MRG helped me create. I had the opportunity to interview with companies outside of my career field and MRG has and continues to support me in so many ways. Because of their efforts, my move to an unfamiliar job market was actually easy, and because of their dedication I know I can count on MRG for continued support."

Assessment & Survey Comments From MRG Clients

"Just a note to thank you for a job well done with our employee surveys when I was President/CEO at Design-Build Associates, Inc. MRG was extremely helpful in both facilitating the composition and scope of our survey, and interpreting the results of our people’s responses. Presentation of the results in multiple formats allowed us to utilize the material, both company-wide and at the management level. It was also refreshing to receive a follow-up phone call from MRG to ensure we were pleased with the work completed. The professionalism and service offered, as well as the company’s ability to truly make this exercise a tool for us to manage Design-Build, was invaluable."
Kevin Koellner, Principal, Howard Steel, LLC

Tips for Job Candidates

MRG identifies prospects by: industry, functional expertise, geography, desired location, and the desire to make a career/industry change.

A professional search firm like MRG performs an essential service to business and industry. We bring insight, efficiency, productiveness and confidentiality to the hiring process.

We recommend you consider the level of service you want, then interview and reference check several firms. Use the interviews and references to determine merit. Then be confident to move forward with the knowledge you made the best decision based upon your careful research and knowledge.

You are happy in your current position. The thought of leaving hasn't entered your mind. And then, a recruiter contacts you.

MRG’s advice can make the difference when a career opportunity occurs.
  • Always accept the call. You never now when a recruiter might present the perfect opportunity. Whether or not to pursue the position is your choice. If you are uncooperative, the firm may not contact you again.
  • Find out more about the search firm. Is their service retained, or do they work on a contingency basis? Ask for more information about the opening and its requirements so you can evaluate the opportunity.
  • Be discreet about releasing your name. Do not allow your resume to be distributed without your consent.
  • If you are not interested, say so. Offer names of people who might be. You are helping your contacts and the recruiter, which can be beneficial to you in the future.
  • Be articulate and positive. The recruiter is already evaluating whether or not you have the communication skills needed for the job.
  • When asked about your accomplishments and earnings, don’t exaggerate. Recruiters check references thoroughly, and any discrepancies could disqualify you. You must develop a candid relationship with a recruiter, or there is no point in working with him or her.
Are you considering a career change?

Clearly identify your specific needs so you can choose the best firm to represent you in the marketplace.
