Vice President, BU Business Development and Sales Lead | Cobham Mission Systems

The VP BU BD & Sales Lead is accountable for:

  • Leading BD & Sales activity for the Business Unit (BU) to deliver short and long term growth plans

  • Working with other stakeholders to ensure that BU product strategies are developed and continuously maintained to align with customer and market needs to achieve sustainable profitable organic growth

  • Promote and participate in cross-sector opportunities for growth

  • Championing the Customer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer delight through: excellent customer relationships; internal advocacy to drive improvement; efficient Sales operations; and commitment management.

  • Maintain BU pipeline health to exceed order intake targets to support revenue generation

  • Lead and direct the business win team to maximize organic growth

  • Ensure function’s structure and competencies are able to respond to business needs

  • Identify and resource growth opportunities

  • Develop BU strategies in collaboration with BU and Sector leadership teams. Input into the long range planning activity including investment and M&A recommendations

  • Collaborate with HR to establish and administer sales incentive plans to drive growth

  • Participate as a key member of the BU leadership team

  • Prioritize pipeline opportunities, and ensure team focus and resource allocation

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have experience within the aerospace and defense industry

  • Have led BD & Sales teams to achieve market leadership within a global, highly differentiated environment

  • Sustained delivery of organic growth in a global business environment

  • Successful achievement of short range and long range growth plans through excellent pipeline management and strategies

  • Successful implementation and continuous improvement of BD, Product Management & Sales processes

  • Successful execution of complex business capture and contracting

  • Track record of excellent customer and industry relationships

  • Reputation for balanced Customer and business advocacy
