Steps to Building a Successful LinkedIn Company Page

LinkedIn is more than just a site for job seekers.  With more than 450 million members worldwide, it is a great place to build leads and build brand awareness for your company.  To take advantage of this free service you need to first create a company page.  Below are the simple instructions to get you started:

To add a Company Page:

  1. Move your cursor over Interests at the top of your homepage and select Companies.
  2. Click Create in the Create a Company Page box on the right.
  3. Enter your company's official name and your work email address.
  4. Click Continue and enter your company information.

You are not finished yet!  The next steps require you to build out your page with information and material that is unique to your company.  Take this opportunity to tell your company story, make it engaging and craft your message to your audience. Let future followers know what sets you apart from the competition.  Having trouble getting your photos to fit?  Try Canva, a free website that allows you to upload your own files to create professional looking social media images.

After you have successfully created a stunning company page, prepare a plan for adding fresh content.  LinkedIn suggests scheduling postings regularly, whether that is new product information, relevant industry articles, or open positions.  By providing your audience with new material, you are inviting them to engage with your brand.
